Work Baldwins! Work!

The Baldwins know how to work.  When you get them all together they can get lots done.  Over Thanksgiving all the Baldwins went up to Devin's brother Kyle's house to help do the drywall in their basement.
They made quite the train bringing all the drywall in.
They worked hard all day to put it up.

I don't have any pictures of the finished product, but I think it looks great. (more pictures)
While the guys worked hard there was plenty of time for the rest of us to play.
Nicholas had a great time playing with Daisy the dog, his new best friend.
He loved playing with Chelsea.
And just had a good time overall.
Anna also had a blast playing with her cousins out in the snow.

We had some great visiting time.

I am grateful Devin loves to work with his brothers, and that they are such hard workers.  When you want something done, call the Baldwin boys (and Missy too).  They can get the job done!
Speaking of getting the job done.  One of the highlights of our trip to Idaho for Thanksgiving was that I finally finished Nicholas's quilt.
I love how it turned out.  Now I just have to finish his cross stitch.  Off to work we go!

The Cake

The best part of a first birthday is the cake.  Nicholas made us proud!  I have never seen a child attack a cake like Nicholas did.  Once he figured things out, he went at it taking fist fulls of cake.  He even licked the plate.  Way to go Nicholas!  Thanks to all the Baldwin photographers.  You guys got some amazing pictures!

And if you'd like to see the full video, enjoy!

Nicholas's Birthday Parties

To celebrate Nicholas's birthday we have a party in Utah the week before with my family. We got a few cute pictures of Nicholas and Anna while they were waiting for their cousins to come.

We played some games.

After watching everyone try and link up the monkeys Nicholas wanted to try.  He crawled over and popped one right into his mouth.

Then we ate cake.  Here is lion cake number one.
We had a special treat to be in Idaho for Nicholas's real birthday.  We haven't ever been able to celebrate one of our kid's birthdays with the Baldwin family and it was super fun.
Chris won the monkey linking game.
We had some amazing animal charades.
We played a memory game with a bunch of animals.
We put all the animals out and then had everyone close their eyes and Nick would pick one and then people would guess which one he took.

Then we opened presents.

Lots of great family time!

Then it was cake time!
The cameras were ready....
I will do a separate post for Nicholas's cake because it was that amazing!  Nick's Cake

Just Dance

We don't own a Wii.  When we were in Idaho for Thanksgiving we were introduced to the Wii game Just Dance.  Nicholas liked it.  Devin....well, he did it to make his nieces smile.  Anna, LOVED it.  She was pretty good too.  I danced, but happily escaped the video camera.  Enjoy the Baldwin family bustin' some moves.

Happy Birthday Nicholas!

Nicholas is now one!  Since his birthday was the day before Thanksgiving, we were in Idaho for his birthday.  We were able to keep up our "Temple Birthday Trip" tradition.  It was fun to take Nicholas to the Idaho Falls temple.  The temple was closed but we were still able to walk around the grounds.  Here are some of our favorite pictures.

Nicholas loved walking around the temple.  I hope that our kids will know how much we love the temple and how much we look forward to taking them there someday.
1 year down Nicholas, 11 to go!
