Anna's First Temple Trip

We feel so blessed to live so close to so many temples. I remember as a little girl watching for the Salt Lake temple as we were traveling to my Grandma's house. I loved looking for it as we drove North on I-15. Likewise I remember looking out the windows at her house down onto the Salt Lake valley and trying to pick out the temple among all of the bright city lights. On the way home we loved finding the Jordan River temple too. I never get sick of trying to find the temple as we are driving. Several weeks ago I was thrilled to see that the Draper Temple was now "lit up." And just last week as we were driving we saw the new Oquirrh Mountain temple shining at night. How cool is it to drive North and pass SO many temples!
Since we love the temple so much, we could not pass up the chance to go to the Draper Temple Open House. The best part is that we got to take Anna with us. We debated taking our stroller with us, but we were so glad that we didn't. Devin was able to hold Anna up so she could see stuff better. She was so good and didn't make a peep. (Though she did decided that the Celestial Room was the place to spit up part of her breakfast. Good thing Dad is fast with the burp cloth.) It was great to go to the temple as a family.
We are excited to go back and do a session. Because this temple serves 60,000 members and only has sessions every hour and the rooms only holds 50 people you have to call and schedule an appointment. If you'd like to go the number is 801-576-4240. I just got off the phone with the cute little temple operator lady and Devin and I are scheduled to be on the 8pm session on Wednesday, March 25th. WOOOHOO!!!

How fun. I remember when we took Kaitlyn through the Rexburg temple. I was so worried about her and she did awesome, until we got back to the church! She is getting so big.

Wow! I didn't realize that they were taking appointments already. Thanks for the number!

I can see three temples from my house. Not many people can say that.

We went to the open house Saturday. I enjoyed having my little boys with me.

That is how it is at our temple we have to make appointments. That is one of the things I miss about Utah.

You are so lucky to live close to so many temples. Our temple is over 100 miles away, and we only have 5 stakes here in our huge city- so probably won't be getting one anytime soon ;) oh well...we make a day out of it. I just have to say that Anna is totally adorable! Such a cutie :)

I love to hear a Baldwin say they have been to the Temple. I am an avid Baldwin genealogist and would love to here from you or your Baldwin parents to see if we are related.

What a fun experience. And yes, welcome to how they work small temples. You have to call ahead. That is how it is for the temple in our area. And the sessions are always packed!! (Because they don't turn down those who forgot to call and get on the list-that was us once)
