We have been working really hard to finish things in our yard. Last month I posted that we had curbing put in. After that we worked on the swing set, garden area, and flower beds.
With all the digging in the dirt we discovered that Anna has NO fear of worms and loves to pick them up and carry them all over.
Nicholas and Anna love getting rides in the wheelbarrow.
Here is a look at the back corner after the curbing was put in.
We picked up the swing set and most if it came in a big crate. This wooden crate became the favorite play place for our kids for quite a while.
This picture shows how we moved our garden down so that the swing set would be in the corner.
The curbing guys removed a lot of the grass, but there was still lots of work to be done.
Our kids LOVED playing in the dirt!!!
Devin's parents came down for Conference weekend and helped with getting rid of more sod. I am grateful that I could post on KSL that we had free sod. It was gone within 48 hours.
Anna liked climbing on the stack of sod that Devin ripped out.
Gene and Cole came down on a Saturday to help Devin put the swing set together. The guy at the store said it would take two guys 6 hours to put it together.
The kids had lots of fun riding bikes in the dirt.
Helping move things.
And mostly playing in the big boxes.
Devin and Gene did a great job! Those Baldwin boys sure do know how to work together!
They finished in 5 hours and 40 minutes minus a nice lunch break. They beat the rain, which we were worried about. It endend up being the perfect cloud covered day, not too hot at all.
Devin did a time-laps video of them putting the swing set together. It is pretty cool! I am so glad he did it. You can see how much fun the kids had playing in the boxes. Those boxes kept them happy ALL day!
The next job was to get the rubber chips. I am so glad that we did, because our kids are kind of well...good at falling. It took four truck loads of rubber chips to fill in the play area. I didn't get any pictures of the area filled that night because we were working well into the dark hours.
In the course of all of this work on the yard we dug up TONS and TONS of rocks. Not just little rocks but lots of big rocks. Cedar Hills had the city clean up day and we borrowed our neighbor's truck, loaded all the rocks up and Devin dumped them in the big dumpsters. Too bad we still keep digging up rocks, but at least most of rocks are gone.
More pictures to come on the garden and flower beds. The yard is coming along nicely.

Poor Devin worked so hard last year to dig a trench to put a spigot out in our garden to make it easier to water. And...he got to dig more to move it again.
It was a lot easier to dig through the garden area than the grass.Gene and Cole came down on a Saturday to help Devin put the swing set together. The guy at the store said it would take two guys 6 hours to put it together.
