Everyone Has A Favorite

The last few days, thanks to American Idol, Devin and I have been discussing Michael Jackson. Now before anything is said I must clearly make the following statement. There are things that should be heard and not seen. Michael Jackson is one of those things that we can listen to, but DO NOT watch. With the exception of some of his classic music videos...Thriller and Beat It being my two favorites.
Anyway, I asked Devin what his favorite Michael Jackson song was. He looked at me like I was crazy. Come on, everyone has a favorite Michael Jackson song! I found out to my horror that he did not listen to Michael Jackson growing up...which adds to my hypothesis that Idaho is its own planet. How can you grow up in the 80's and not listen to Michael Jackson. His reply was, "How can anyone grown up and not know how to 'throw hay'?" Can you believe that he had never seen Thriller until two nights ago??? Needless to say I've had Michael Jackson songs stuck in my head for the last few days. So what is your favorite Michael Jackson song?? Remember we listen to him, we do not watch him. Though I had to include this funny Pepsi commercial. You've got to love the 80's!

Works In Progress

Spring just makes me so happy! As much as everyone hates Daylight Savings, I for one love the fact that it is light for longer. It is so nice that Devin comes home from work and it is still light outside. It is weird to put Anna to bed when it is still light outside, but she doesn't seem to mind it at all.
With all of this sun and warmer weather I feel like I have had a burst of energy. I feel like I am getting more done. I run more, sew more, read more, clean more,...more and more. I like to think it is the sun and warm weather that is helping me doing it.
I thought I would show a few of my works in progress. I am happily hacking away at all of my sewing projects.
This is what I have done so far on my Crazy Nine Patch quilt that my ward has been doing. Yes, it is very pink. But I have so many quilts I thought it would be fun to have a special Valentine's quilt. I still have a few blocks to finish for it. But I like how it is turning out so far. It is a fun quilt to make. Probably one of the easiest quilts I've ever worked on.
These are a few blocks from a quilt that I am making from scraps of fabric. It is called the Depression Block. That is because you use lots of small scraps of fabric. It is a really cool block. Just fun to look at. I am excited because every block is different.
I have lots of other projects that are in the works but these are the ones I have been working on this week. Hopefully the sun will keep me full of energy to keep getting things done.

The First of Many

Today was too nice to not go for a walk. After Anna woke up from her nap we went outside to enjoy the wonderful warm weather. Isn't it crazy that the mid 40s can be considered warm? It was great to go outside in just a light jacket. I didn't even bother putting Anna in her bunny coat. Just a jacket for her and a fuzzy blanket. Hopefully this will be the first of many many walks we will take.
This was also Anna's chance to show off her new shoes. They are stinkin' cute. I figured since she loves to stand up that if we were going to be going outside more she probably needed some shoes. Now my quest is to find some cheep church shoes because it just looks silly when she doesn't have shoes on at church.

Chills

Am I the only one who just can't wait until July 17th?
Why?
I get chills every time I watch any of the trailers.
I know the movie isn't as good as the book,
but they aren't half bad.
Can anyone imagine life without Harry?

Rice (Chalk) Cereal

Yesterday we started Anna on rice cereal. Devin says it tastes like chalk. This brings two important questions to mind. 1. How would you know what chalk tastes like? 2. Why would you be crazy enough to taste the rice cereal? Can't you tell by looking at it and smelling it that it is going to taste nasty?
Chalk taste or not, Anna seems to like it. She makes really cute faces sometimes. Here are some of our favorites so far.

Any tips on starting solid foods?

The OrangeSoda Baby

I love the fact that Devin loves his job. He loves the people he works with. He loves what he does. Long before OrangeSoda existed I loved the color orange. We still love the color orange, hence the orange car seat, orange diaper bag, and orange stroller. It is not hard to agree on a color in our house. For most things we pick orange.
I had this little shirt made for Anna so she could support her daddy's company. I think she would make a great mascot. What do you think?

Hot Off The Press

I am happy to beat the church in announcing that the NEW New Testament Story book is out. We got it in the mail today. YEAH!!!! It is so great. Way better than the old one. The pictures are so nice. We have even noticed that they have reworded a lot of the stories. They have even added some stories and taken some out. We have read the Book of Mormon and just finished reading the Old Testament last week. This book came just in time. I don't know if it is available at the Distribution Center yet, but you can order it on line and they even ship it to you for free. (New Testament Story Book) If you go to this site it still looks like the old version, but trust me, you'll get the new one. I love how the church continues to update their materials. I am grateful for the hours and hours people spend to give us great things to teach our children the gospel.
