Anna had her Peter Pan dance concert last night. I am about a month behind on blogging, but I couldn't resist posting about Anna's concert now.
For this concert they wanted the little girls' hair curly and half up. Poor Anna has my hair, hair that is so stick straight it is pathetic. I knew that the only way to keep her hair curly was to do sponge curlers. We spent several weeks before the concert practicing to figure out the right combination of curlers and what size to use.
We finally figured out the right number...30. Anna was a trooper sitting still for me to put that many curlers in. Hopefully I didn't scar her for life by sending her to preschool with her curlers in. It made me smile when I saw one of my neighbors sending her little girl to school with curlers in too.
But it was worth it. Her hair was super cute and it lasted through the car ride down and any "Anna" bouncing.
We stretched my mommy abilities and did some makeup. Anna was so excited to wear "pretty stuff" on her face.
Anna had two dances. For her first dance she was a teddy bear.
For the second dance she was a lady bug.
Things were crazy for us with this concert because Devin was doing all the videoing. I earned "Super Wife" points for helping with this crazy endeavor. Cutting out 700 fliers for the program was easy, actually helping video was quite the stretch. Good thing Devin is a master at editing. I can't wait to see the finished product.
Needless to say, we are stuck with the few pictures that mom took, because the photographer of the house was busy working. :( I did get a few fun shots.
This was dress rehearsal. There were so many dancers and their parents coming in and out it was super cold. Anna and Stella were FREEZING!
This is Anna's class before their first practice.
Anna was bouncing off the walls the night of the concert. She was so excited to dance on the stage again.
This is Anna with her dance teacher Miss DeLayne. She is a hoot. The perfect teacher for Anna.
The concert was AMAZING!!! Peter Pan is such a fun story. Anna's class did their teddy bear dance first. They were teddy bears in the nursery.
Anna's second dance was when Peter, Wendy, and they boys arrived at Neverland. They were the lady bugs welcoming them to Neverland.
Anna was so stinkin' cute!!! I didn't get any "mom" video the first night because I was helping Devin video. Anna did such a good job. It is fun to see how much better she is as compared to her last dance concert.
Anna loved the whole thing. After her last concert she was so wired! She was running all over.
One of the best parts of the concert for Anna was Braxton. Braxton is a friend from our old ward, he was one of Devin's scouts. Braxton is a great performer. Anna has been going to his plays ever since she was born. We could safely say that Anna is Braxton's biggest fan. When Anna got her fliers for the concert I asked her who she wanted to invite. Braxton was the first on the list. I had to explain to her that Braxton is at school up in Logan and that he might not be able to come. You should have seen her smile when I told her that he had come. Too bad she was bouncing off the walls, we really wanted to get a good picture of them together. Thanks Braxton, you made her day!!!
The concert turned out great! Anna did a wonderful job. We can't wait until the spring concert. Anna kept asking today when it will be her turn to dance on the special dance shoes that the big girls wear. All in good time Anna.

What a darling little performer you've got there! :)
She is adorable! I'm sad I didn't get to see it in person. And, having seen her in those curlers at preschool, I thought it was great. She didn't seem bothered at all. :) And no one made a single comment--except me asking her if she was going to have beautiful hair in her dance concert. :)
