Everyone Has A Favorite
The last few days, thanks to American Idol, Devin and I have been discussing Michael Jackson. Now before anything is said I must clearly make the following statement. There are things that should be heard and not seen. Michael Jackson is one of those things that we can listen to, but DO NOT watch. With the exception of some of his classic music videos...Thriller and Beat It being my two favorites.
Anyway, I asked Devin what his favorite Michael Jackson song was. He looked at me like I was crazy. Come on, everyone has a favorite Michael Jackson song! I found out to my horror that he did not listen to Michael Jackson growing up...which adds to my hypothesis that Idaho is its own planet. How can you grow up in the 80's and not listen to Michael Jackson. His reply was, "How can anyone grown up and not know how to 'throw hay'?" Can you believe that he had never seen Thriller until two nights ago??? Needless to say I've had Michael Jackson songs stuck in my head for the last few days. So what is your favorite Michael Jackson song?? Remember we listen to him, we do not watch him. Though I had to include this funny Pepsi commercial. You've got to love the 80's!

I have to admit, I'm close to the same boat as Devin. But that's more out of choice than living on my some strange planet;-) But I do have to say that I am a fan of Billie Jean..it reminds me of a friend from High School.Oh and Beat It...how could you not like Beat It?
I grew up in Idaho (Boise) and I LOVED Michael Jackson so I don't know what planet Devin grew up on? I love all the classics but I think one of my most favorite is "The Way You Make Me Feel"
i've never been a michael jackson fan. he is okay.
My brother hates it when I remind him of this now, but when he was really little he wanted to grow up and do the background hiccups for Michael Jackson. He quickly grew out of that stage.
Sorry Julie... I grew up n the 80's and I didn't listen to much of anything... just ask Dave. Although I know a few Michael Jackson songs I probably couldn't name any.
Mine is Definitely 'Heal the World'... :) Ok, not really...I always liked 'Bad'.
I think I have too many to choose from. Beat it and Bad and the way you make me feel are definitely on top.
Where Devin and Kyle in the same house? Kyle has many favorite Michael Jackson songs too. Although, I did quite enjoy Adam's "Black and White" version.
I will say that commercial was one of his better physical versions of himself. He should have stopped there.
After that show Kyle said we should find one of his albums, get out the sequin glove!

Julie I am with you. I love Michael Jackson's songs! And Last year on American Idol when David Cook sang Billie Jean. . . .Oh I just about died. The Michael Jackson week was very fun!
My all time favorite Michael Jackson songs have to be:
1. Beat it - because it was one of the first songs I remember from DTV on the Disney Channel and because Eddie Van Halen plays the guitar solo.
2. The way you make me feel - because it was one of the first real music videos I ever saw.
3. Thriller - because the video was really creepy. . . still is.
4. Who is It - becaus it has a great beat to skate to. As Peter Miller would say. . . "It has a heartbeat!"
Okay, I don't think Idaho is it's own planet, but the Baldwin family just grew up in a cave. We hardly listened to anything on the radio and when we did it was country, classical, or my dads oldies. I discovered Michael Jackson when I went to college. Sad huh. I was torn because I love his music but don't like most of his movies or his influence in the world. Great artist just not a positive role model! I think Billy Jean is my favorite, but I have the greatest hits and I can listen to them all! I think I can agree with Kat and he favorites. But also Black and White.
