Anna went on her first field trip with her preschool class. Anna was SO excited to go on her first field trip and Mom was THRILLED to go as a mom and not as the teacher in charge. :)
We went to the Hee Haw Farm. The kids were excited, but the adults were a bit concerned about the rainy cloudy weather (too bad we didn't go the week before when it was 80). It wasn't raining or snowing so we bundled the kids up and went for it.
Anna, Liz, and Caden were in our little group. They had a great time looking at all the animals.
They had a big pen for a bunch of baby animals. They let the kids go into the pen and just wander around petting the animals.
Some of the animals would come right up to you. Liz LOVED every second of it. She was fearless. She was petting every animal and just as happy as can be.
The kids were amazed at the HUGE pigs.
There were a bunch of little piglets that were pretty cute, if you can call a pig cute.
There was a goat that was locked in a little shed. We were joking with the kids of what they thought the goat did to be locked up in the shed.
The more time they spent in the pen with the animals the more daring the became. One of my favorite moments was watching Korver and Caden trying to be the most brave by petting the calf. Korver would sneak up and pet the calf quickly. Then Caden would do the same. It was pretty funny to watch.
After the animals we learned a bunch about corn.
We went on a hay ride and went through a short corn maze.
One of the things Anna was excited about was that she got to bring a lunch. She loves having picnics. I felt bad for the kids trying to eat their lunches all bundled up.
After lunch they played on looked around more.
The favorite spot was the big slides. You can't see the slide but you can see that they are pretty high.
After all that, the kids had the chance to go pick out their very own pumpkin to take home.
They were so excited about their pumpkins!!!
It was a really fun field trip. The timing was perfect. Right as we were leaving it started to rain.
The kids had a great time. It was fun listening to them laugh and talk about their favorite parts of the trip as we drove home.
