California Part #2 Fairytale Town

While we were in California my grandparents took us to Fairytale Town in Sacramento.
We wanted to do something fun for the kids.  I looked into a lot of different things.  When my aunt Leslie suggested Fairytale Town she hit the spot.  I wish there was something like this in Utah.  It was such an amazing fun park for the kids to play at.  Basically it is a park with slides and stuff for the kids to climb on all based on fairytales and nursery rhymes.  We where there for a long time and could have spent tons more time.  At a lot of the play areas they had a storybook box.  You could put a little key in and it would tell the story or sing a song.
There are cool things like:
King Arthur's Castle and round table.
The old woman in the shoe had a pretty sweet slide.  It was tall and steep and the kids both couldn't get enough of it.

Nicholas liked playing in the dirt inside the tipi.
MY favorite was the Crooked Mile.  They had "miles" of path for the kids to "walk" on.

At the end you came to the cute little crooked house.
The kids just walked around and around.  I would really love to know how long the path is.  It twists and turns, goes up and down, and through the trees.  Way cool!
Owl's house had a really fun twisty slide.
Not only do they have slides and things to play on, but they have lots of animals too.
The three blind mice were cute to watch.
The three little pigs and their houses of straw, sticks, and bricks were pretty cute.
Nicholas was completely fascinated by the pigs.  He got right down on the ground with them.
Anna liked driving the farmer's tractor.
Another favorite spot was Sherwood Forest.  Devin fits right in with Little John.
Anna loved Cinderella's pumpkin coach.
We all know "The Cheese Stands Alone."  But Nicholas just kept falling through the holes.

Anna had fun climbing on the Giant's foot.
While Nicholas was busy climbing Jack's beanstalk.
It was fun to see Jack and Jill's hill.
Nicholas even tried to "fetch some water."
Anna had a fun ride on the Little Engine that Could.
The kids loved sliding down the White Rabbit's hole.
Who wouldn't love seeing a Gingerbread house that is bigger than you are?
Nicholas tried to take a nap with the Hare while the tortoise was winning the race.
I guess I should have gotten in this picture.  :)
Anna loved watering Mr. McGregor's garden.

Captain Hook's pirate ship was pretty cool too!

My kids could have spent days playing here.  Grandma Upton bought the kids little bears that they love and fondly call their "Fairytale Bears."  Grandma Henderson bought a CD that had all of the stories and songs from the different areas.  It is now one favorite CDs to listen to.
So, if you are ever in Sacramento and want to have a really good time, I would highly suggest going to Fairytale Town.  It was cheep and TONS of fun.  We will be going back.  Thank you Grandma and Grandpa Upton for such a fun day.  My kids still talk about how fun Fairytale Town was.
