Disneyland Day #1

A long time ago we decided that when our kids are 40 inches tall that we would take them to Disneyland.  When you are 40 inches tall you can ride most of the rides at Disneyland and California Adventure.  We have been itching to go to Disneyland.  Anna has been getting closer and closer.  We have some friends that were planning to go down and we jumped at the idea of going down with them. We were thrilled that Anna was just tall enough.  We did go out and buy Anna some boots to give her just a quarter inch more, so there wouldn't be any question that she was tall enough.  The boots ended up being a big help.  They were her "Brave Boots."  When she wore them she would be brave enough to go on any ride.
We drove down on Monday.  Our kids were great in the car.  I am glad that they both love to look at books and that they don't get car sick when they do.

We stopped in St. George for an early lunch.  We had Daylight Savings in our favor.  We were able to leave really early, but for our kids it didn't feel too early.  We ate at Iceberg.  The kids loved the ice cream cones that came with the kids meals.
Nicholas was in heaven.  He enjoyed every lick.
We took our traditional stop by the St. George temple.  The kids had fun climbing the steps.

Devin made sure Nicholas made it down without falling.
I am glad that it was a nice day.  The kids love being outside.

Thanks to one of the cute sister missionaries we were able to get a family picture in front of the temple.
Anna and I found a few butterflies to watch.  I don't think she has ever seen a butterfly up close before.
The kids did great traveling.  We are grateful to wonderful neighbors who shared with us their portable DVD players and fun movies for the kids.

They really came in handy at the end of the day.  We were making great time.  But then we hit MAJOR traffic.  It took us 2+ hours to go 14 miles.   We kept expecting there to be a HUGE accident.  Nope, just construction.
By the time we got to our hotel both kids were out cold.  Nicholas woke up, but was a zombie.  Both kids went right to sleep in the hotel.  They did great traveling!
