Nice Sweater

My mom's cousin Brenda knitted this awesome sweater for Nicholas.  He looks quite handsome in it.
Thanks Brenda!  I can't imagine how much time it must have taken you to make this.

Hold the Phone!

Nicholas has started to hold objects...that is if you force it into his hand and then wrap his fingers around it. :) He likes his little phone rattle a lot.
It is fun to compare this picture to one of Anna at the same age, holding the same phone.
Thanks Grandma for the great phone rattle.  It has been a winner two times now.

Tummy Time!

Tummy time is so much more enjoyable when you do it as a family.

Even though you can't see it, Nicholas is getting pretty good at holding his head up.  He really doesn't mind tummy time.  It gives him a chance to suck on his fingers.

Nicholas's Baby Blessing

January 9th we had Nicholas' baby blessing.  It was a good day and the blessing was very nice.  It was nice to have a chance to visit with family.  We had lots of good visiting time Saturday.
Anna had fun trying on Cindy's vest.
We also went to Pizza Factory Saturday night.  I am grateful that Nicholas slept through the whole meal.
Anna slept through quite a bit of dinner, but woke up in time to enjoy one of their delicious bread sticks.
This last Sunday we finally took the time to take some pictures of Nicholas in his baby blessing outfit.  Here are my top 5 favorite pictures.

And here is my favorite picture of those who were helping take the pictures.  Anna really likes to try and make Nicholas smile.
After taking pictures in Nicholas's baby blessing outfit, we thought it would be fun to take pictures of Nicholas in Devin's baby blessing outfit.  Too bad Nicholas is WAY bigger than his daddy.  This is about as far as we could go without putting the outfit in danger and making Nicholas really mad.
Too bad it didn't fit, it would have been cute to get a picture of him in the same outfit his daddy was blessed in.

Constant Entertainment

Anna provides constant entertainment for our family. Lately she has been entertaining us by...

Making sure Nicholas has his binky.
Playing great songs on her little piano.
Holding Nicholas.
Putting her clothes on all by herself. Who cares if your pants are backwards.

She has really been into socks lately. She is constantly taking her socks off and putting them back on during the day. You never know who's socks she will be wearing next.

Anna spends tons of time playing "Blues Clues." Thanks to Emily, Anna spends quite a bit of the day looking for clues and then drawing them in her Handy Dandy Notebook.

Anna is busy all day long. She has really been enjoying coloring, doing puzzles, and reading stories. It is no surprise that there are many days that she just "drops dead" right in the middle of playing. An example of this is one day she was playing under Nicholas's crib (one of her new favorite places to play). One minute she was talking away playing, the next minute she was out cold. She slept there for a good hour.

Anna is so much fun. She even makes us smile when she sleeps.

SNOW!!

On December 21st we had a REALLY good snow storm.  Devin had fun shoveling the driveway before work.  We were really tempted to have Christmas early because it was so pretty.  It just looked like Christmas.

8 Weeks

Nicholas is 8 weeks old today. Where has the time gone???? Oh I know, two kids, the holidays, and family stuff, and a baby blessing with TONS of company. I guess I shouldn't feel too bad that I haven't been posting a lot. Oh ya, and I had a c-section. :)
Here are some pictures of Nicholas when he was three weeks old. He went to church for the first time on December 12th. He looked quite handsome if you ask me. Too bad the little white shirt that we got for him is too small for his big neck. (Devin would say he doesn't have a neck, but we all know he does have one.) Even though the top button isn't done up, I still think he looks like a great future missionary.
Enjoy!

Anna loves Nicholas. She loves giving him kisses and feeling his hair.

Christmas 2010

Here are the highlights of Christmas 2010.

Gene and Taylor gave the kids super cute Christmas outfits. We couldn't resist doing a little photo shoot.
Anna LOVED her "Santa" dress.
Nicholas wasn't so sure about his outfit. He does make a pretty cute "mad" elf.
He wasn't mad the whole time.
This was our favorite picture of both kids.

For Christmas Eve we went over to my mom's house.
Anna and Hyrum were "partied out" before the night even started.
We had a nice dinner and then did the Nativity.
Anna made a cute Mary and Paul was a very happy Joseph.
Anna really did enjoy holding the baby Jesus. She isn't a doll girl, but she had fun.
The highlight of the evening was the boy's puppet show. The show was called, "How the Chef Stole Christmas." It was pretty funny!

Christmas morning our children slept until 8:30am. It was so nice!!!! We tried to take more pictures, because last year we took one picture.
The traditional p.j. Christmas morning shot.
Anna was pretty excited that Santa brought her a kitchen.
Anna also got a "Handy Dandy Notebook." Anna loves watching Blues Clues and Emily was able to make a little notebook that looks just like the one on the show. She now walks around the house with her notebook looking for clues. It is pretty cute!
We started a new Christmas tradition, I made cinnamon rolls. They turned out pretty good.
It was a nice calm day. We had a great time playing with toys and hanging out with family. It was a great Christmas!
