Jane's First Two Weeks

On October 9th Jane decided it was time to join our family.  I was 38 weeks. My water broke around 5:15am and a little after 7am Jane was born.  She weighed 6lbs 10oz and was 18 inches long.  She has been our angel baby.

Anna and Nicholas love their little sister.
Jane was great in the hospital.  She figured out the "eating" thing with a little help and loved to just cuddle and sleep.  She is very easy to please.
Devin brought the kids to visit each day.  Anna liked writing on the message board.
I had a c-section, so I got to spend almost four days in the hospital.  Jane and I were more than ready to go home.  Jane weighed 6lbs 3oz when we left the hospital.  She is such a little peanut compared to Anna and Nicholas.
 Nicholas loves looking at Jane.
Sunday we had Jane's first photo shoot.
Everyone likes to be part of the shoot.
My mom's cousin Brenda, who is like an aunt to me, made Jane's blessing dress.  IT IS GORGEOUS!!!!!  We had to try it on.  It is a little big, but not much.  Good thing we have until January to grow a bit more.
Jane is an awesome sleeper.  She sleeps well during the day and gets up once or twice at night.  Angel baby slept from 10pm until 5am on my birthday.  It was wonderful to sleep!!!
Anna is always willing to hold Jane.
Nicholas likes to watch Jane and play with the buttons on the swing.  I have to watch him close so that the speed doesn't get too high.

We have been stuck inside, so to help the afternoon go better I have pulled out some of my Halloween crafts and papers for the kids to color.  Anna found these weird hats.  They think they are great, I think they are weird!
They didn't want to take them off!
Jane got her first "bath".  She was so good and didn't even cry.
I had a great 35th birthday.  Devin was nice and got a cheese cake for us to enjoy.
Jane is so small.  I have pictures of Anna in this outfit right after she was born and she filled it quite nicely.  Jane on the other had has more than enough room to grow.  Her legs don't really even reach the bottom.
We went outside to take advantage of the last few warm days of fall.  Jane does great in the carrier, and the kids LOVE being able to go out and play.
Here is another picture of Jane in a 0-3 month onesie.  Emily was so nice and let us borrow a bunch of newborn stuff. Now our little lady isn't drowning in her clothes.
Jane was great on Wednesday when we had to go to the doctor.  This is how she was the whole time during my appointment.  C-section is healing great.  I feel better than I did after the other two, and they weren't bad.  I think being in great shape before getting pregnant and exercising and eating really well throughout the whole pregnancy really made a difference with my recovery.  I really do feel fantastic.  I am counting down the weeks until I am free to do whatever I want.  For now I have a great husband who vacuums and awesome kids who help with laundry and dishes.  Only 4 more weeks and we will be free!!!
Jane was also an angel at her doctor appointment.  She now weighs 6lbs 12oz. She is 19 inches long.  I had to laugh that she is in the 10th percentile for weight and head size and the 5th for height.  She is just so small!!!  She was great for Dr. Wilcox and didn't cry at all.  She was a trooper while they poked her.  I joked with the nurse that it was good to know that Jane could cry, because she doesn't really cry at all at home.
Anna and Nicholas have been great as we are adjusting to life with three.  I am glad that they are so willing to help out and that they play so well together.  Anna is getting better at reading which is so helpful.  She can read to Nicholas.  It is fun listening to her read him stories.  She is such a great big sister.
